Make full use of the height of your building by installing a mezzanine floor
A mezzanine floor is a quick and easy way to use the available height of a building. It can, for example, double or even triple the available floor space. We install mezzanines in all kinds of spaces and for all sorts of uses. For instance, we have put them in factories, industrial units, shopping centres, and sports centres, as well as office buildings, hotels, government buildings, restaurants, airports, concert halls, museums and clinics.
A mezzanine floor is an ideal way to solve storage issues. Install shelving and racking on the storage level or use it as a new warehouse storage platform for palletised goods.
Create additional office space with a mezzanine floor. This is a relatively cost-effective solution. In addition, it allows you to increase your headcount, under the same roof!
Use a mezzanine floor to increase retail floor space. Our mezzanine floors fit seamlessly into a retail space. In addition, you can choose from a huge range of high quality decking, staircases and handrail options.
There are several options to consider when looking at installing a raised floor. Learn more about the structural, rack supported and walkway options below. Click on the plus and minus signs to expand and collapse the sections.
Conventional mezzanine floors are a flexible way to create additional space by utilising available headroom. Common applications are for additional storage, production or office use. Can be a single level or multi–tier if headroom allows. All mezzanine floors require Building Regulations approval. We advise on these at the design stage to ensure your proposal is properly costed. We offer a complete solution that includes any fire rating that may be required, lighting, smoke detection and signage.
Pallet racking or longspan shelving can be used to support a floor if the area underneath is to be used solely for storage. This can often be more cost effective than installing a structural mezzanine floor with shelving on the ground floor, as well as offering improved density of storage. However the ground floor layout cannot easily be altered once installed.
Racking can be used to support a walkway when a high density of hand loaded shelving is required. Rather than creating a complete floor, the uprights are fitted with support beams for the walkway, commonly particleboard or steel grating. This system offers high storage densities and is an ideal solution when there is order picking of relatively slow moving lines. Access to and from walkways (often multi-tiered) can be with conveyors or goods lifts. Both rack supported and walkway options require Building Regulations approval in the same way as structural mezzanine floors.

We can also submit the full building regulations application to your Local Authority/Approved Building Inspector to get approval and all the required consents if required.
